I finally made it!

This is a more advanced technique to retouch skin.

Please let me know if this helped you, or if it was hard / difficult to understand.

This is a little difficult for me.
So I follow every step, but when I take the black and white off to check, the dodging is way to light almost white, and it looks terrible! What am I doing wrong?

Do you have the dodging layer set to Soft Light?

Great tutorial and I found it easy to understand. I think that's the thing with D&B, easy to understand but hard to do and practice required - it seems like more of a skill than a technique. I found the close up shot particularly useful here. Thanks.

Very welcome! I'm glad it was easily understandable.

Yes it's a very tedious process and requires a trained eye. But the more you practice, the easier it becomes!

Very good tutorial!
Photoshop is unique in that there are so many different ways to do the same thing, it always fascinates me.
I really appreciate sharing of this nature, helps us all.
Thanks

This is essentially what the High Pass filter is for. You can get comparable results very quickly with an inverted and blurred high pass layer in overlay mode and mask out the bits you don't want affected. I hope that helps :D
